Library
Procedures:
The library's mission is to provide information about lace and lace making, and
other relevant topics, to all members of the Rocky Mountain Lace Guild.
Collection Development:
We currently have video recordings, books, periodicals, photocopies of
articles, theses, newspaper articles, pamphlets, and other such material that
falls within the Guild's interests. Donations are actively sought from the
membership and interested parties.
Borrowing
Conditions:
The following information is excerpted from the RMLG's Library Policy. For a
complete document, please send a message to the librarian:
- All paid members of the RMLG have automatic borrowing
privileges to the library. The loan period is ONE (1) MONTH. Generally,
there is no charge for borrowing items from the library. The exception is
video recordings. The current cost for renting a video recording is $2.00.
Materials to be checked out can be delivered by hand at a meeting of the
Guild, mailed, or otherwise delivered by arrangement with the Guild
Librarian.
When material is mailed to members, an invoice for postage will be
included with the package.
All materials are mailed by certified mail, and the borrower is expected
to return items either in person or by certified mail.
The package must be insured for a value of at least $50 per item (for
example 3 items should be insured for at least $150).
A return receipt, where a green card is returned to the sender upon the
items' receipt, must be requested, so that there is a tracking number on
the package. This will be charged at the current rate and added onto the
cost of the postage.
Items may also be returned by UPS, as long as a tracking number is
requested.
Members are responsible for taking due care with items on loan to them
from the Library.
If an item is damaged whilst on loan, and is considered beyond repair or
salvage, or is lost by a member, the member will be invoiced for the
replacement cost of the item, plus a processing fee.
It is the responsibility of the member to report any damage or loss to the
librarian.
